I  take this  opportunity to convey  sincere gratitude  & thanks  on behalf of the people  of the state, our  party workers & myself for the epochal  work  done by your ministry  in bringing  tremendous  improvement in the roads of our  state. Roads are main-stayof our people for moving from one place to another and are critical for the state economic development and progress. This also enables a huge number  of tourists/yatris  to visit the state & on which the state economy depends.

I must also  bring to the kind notice of your goodself  illthought  out   decision of the local officers  of NHAI in respect  of  establishment of  toll  plazas in Jammu region.  There is one toll plaza functioning at Ban on Jammu Udhampur route and recently another toll plaza has been established and made functional at Sarore at Jammu Kathua route while another toll plaza on the same route  established at Hira Nagar/Rajbag is being  made shortly functional.The distance between these toll Plazas is in violation  in the prescribed  distance   limit. They are at a far shorter distance  inter-se than permissible.Further the plaza at Sarore in Jammu Kathua road is very badly designed.This  plaza has been causing  great traffic jam  resulting  inconvenience to the public and it takes all most two hours for  vehicles to cross it . This  has killed very purpose  of widening andimproving  this entire road. On top of it the contractor  behaves very roughly and intimidatingly   with the public.

The net result is  that  public get harassed due to these toll plazawhich instead  of acting as a facility   to them acts as  great hindrances’  and hardship. The Vashno Devi Yatries  have to pass through three plaza at Rajbagh/Hira Nagar, Sarore & at Ban with in the short distance  of 120 Km. The people of the state  are greatly agitated on this count and  is giving us bad name.

Keeping in view  theabove factors it is  requested  that the entire  plane of  establishing  the toll Plaza may please be all togetherscraped. This  will ensure  progress and economic development of  the state which is  totally dependent on tourism both  pleasure and religious. This is alsoimportant  at this juncture, keeping inview the present security & Political turbulence in the state for  which I shall feel personally  obliged.
